Motorist, passengers blame another driver for causing crash

Car accident 35

BEAUMONT  — A motorist and his passengers are suing a Beaumont driver, alleging his negligence caused a car crash that injured the plaintiffs.

Antoinette Sostand, Raymond Sostand and James Carrierre filed a lawsuit May 13 in Jefferson County District Court against Jesus Garza, alleging negligence in failing to properly control his vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 31, Antoinette Sostand, Raymond Sostand and Carrierre all suffered injuries when the car Antoinette Sostand was driving was run into by a vehicle driven by Garza in Beaumont. The plaintiffs allege Garza failed to properly control his vehicle and failed to keep a proper lookout for other traffic.

The plaintiffs allege they sustained physical pain, mental anguish and loss of earnings.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, judgment between $ 1 million and $10 million, interest at the maximum rate allowed, legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorneys David W. Bergquist and Skylar R. Simons of Bergquist Law Firm in Houston.
