Mother blames taxi business for causing crash

Car accident 39

GALVESTON — A mother is suing a Galveston taxi company, alleging the defendant's negligence caused a car crash that injured her and her son.

Deeann Banks individually and as next friend of D.H., filed a lawsuit May 27 in Galveston County District Court against Jeff's Cab Co., Jeffrey H. Moore, doing business as Jeff's Cab Co., Jeff's Cab and Shuttle Service and Michael Stuart Glickman, alleging negligence in failing to control a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on June 12, 2014, Glickman, working for Jeff's Cab, caused a crash in Galveston that injured Banks and D.H. The plaintiff alleges Glickman was intoxicated and failed to properly control his vehicle.

The suit says the plaintiff and her son sustained painful injuries and mental anguish.

Banks seeks trial by jury, damages, monetary relief of more than $100,000, interest at the maximum amount allowed by law, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Spencer P. Browne of Reyes Browne Reilley in Dallas.
