Montgomery County woman alleges defendant owes her $49,000

GALVESTON — A Montgomery County woman is suing a Galveston County man, alleging she is owed more than $49,000.

Rebecca J. Mason filed a lawsuit July 12 in Galveston County District Court against Michael D. Harwell, alleging failure to comply with the terms and conditions of thier loan agreement.

According to the complaint, on May 15, 2012, Mason loaned $60,000 to Harwell with an interest rate of 6 percent per annum. As of May 19, 2016, the balance of $49,468.88, plus the daily interest of $8.06, remains unpaid. The plaintiff alleges Harwell has failed and refused to pay the amount due.

Mason seeks a trial by jury, judgment for $49,468.88, plus pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, legal costs and such other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by James Austin Pinedo of Law Offices of James Austin Pinedo in Houston.
