HOUSTON — A Brazos County man is suing debt collectors, alleging invasion of privacy.
Todd Scott filed a lawsuit July 12 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against National Account Services Group, LLC, DNF Associates LLC and Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America, alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, Scott suffered financial damages resulting from National Account Services Group's' intrusion into his affairs. The plaintiff alleges the defendants attempted to collect an expired account, failed to inform Scott of his right to dispute the debt and failed to disclose its identity.
Scott seeks trial by jury, all damages, including statutory damages of $1,000, attorney fees and legal costs, plus such other relief as the court deems just and proper. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey D. Wood of The Woodfirm PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas.
