Customer alleges 7-Eleven's negligence led to his injuries

Slip01

BEAUMONT — A Beaumont man is suing 7-Eleven, alleging its negligence caused the plaintiff to fall and sustain injuries.

Darren Kinlaw filed a lawsuit July 11 in Jefferson County District Court against 7-Eleven Inc. alleging negligence in breaching its duty of ordinary care.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 27, 2014, Kinlaw was at a 7-Eleven on Washington Boulevard in Beaumont when he was injured due to a serious fall over a parking stop. The suit says Kinlaw sustained physical impairment, mental anguish, disfigurement and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges 7-Eleven failed to discover and remedy the dangerous condition, failed to give adequate warning and failed to keep the store in a reasonably safe condition.

Kinlaw seeks a trial by jury, monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, plus interest, costs of suit, pre-judgment interest and all other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorneys Jonathan C. Juhan and J.J. Bragg of Beaumont.
