BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County man is suing the owners of a vessel, alleging their negligence led to the plaintiff suffering injuries.

Nho Le filed a lawsuit July 6 in Jefferson County District Court against Mr. and Mrs. Bich Tran, M/V Capt. Joseph, II, Lady Snow Inc. and Tim Thien Nguyen, alleging maritime negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 3, 2014, while Le was removing 30 bags of salt on the M/V Capt. Joseph, II, he fell on the bags, causing him to sustain severe injuries and medical expenses. The suit says the injuries caused physical pain, mental anguish and loss wages and benefits.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide a safe place to work and a seaworthy vessel.

Le seeks a trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million plus interest, and such other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by attorneys Richard J. Plezia and Sana Abid of Richard J. Plezia & Associates in Houston.
