GALVESTON — A Friendswood company is suing a contractor, alleging shoddy work and breach of warranty.
Dr. King, Inc. of Friendswood filed a lawsuit July 18 in Galveston County District Court against Wycoff Construction and Development LLC, Pedco Roofing Inc. and John C. Wycoff, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices-Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, on April 17, 2015, a large storm hit the plaintiff's area. The suit says the roof of a day care center, constructed by defendants, failed to contain the water and leaked, causing damages to the roof and the interior of the building.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants engaged in false, misleading and deceptive acts, incorrectly installed the roof and used inadequate workmanship and materials.
Dr. King Inc. seeks a trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, economic and actual damages, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, legal costs and such other relief to which it is entitled. It is represented by attorney Greg A. Hughes of Friendswood.
