Slip01

BEAUMONT – A Winnie woman has filed suit against a grocery store alleging she was injured while shopping.

Brenda Fruge filed a complaint on July 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against HEB Grocery Co. LP, doing business as Beaumont 5 H-E-B Plus, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 3, she slipped and fell on water on the floor at defendant's premises, causing her to suffer severe personal injuries. The plaintiff holds HEB Grocery Co. LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to clean up the area near the produce section.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order from the court to set a hearing for this complaint and the production of documents and witness statements regarding the incident. She is represented by J. Trenton Bond and Chris M. Portner of Portner Bond PLLC in Beaumont.
