Transport business alleges Houston woman breached contract

Contract 07

HOUSTON  — A New York-based transport business with offices in Houston is suing a Harris County woman, alleging breach of an employment contract and disclosing trade secrets.

American Lamprecht Transport Inc. filed a lawsuit Nov. 10 in Galveston County District Court against Delores Quiroga alleging the defendant served only half of her contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, American Lamprecht has lost the benefit of the asset purchase, including at least three established customers, approximately 60 percent of its Houston office business and has suffered damages of at least $563,000 because Quiroga abruptly left the employ of the plaintiff Sept. 15. The suit says the defendant worked only half of the three- year agreement with American Lamprecht and proceeded to use and disclose the plaintiff's trade secrets to her new employer.

American Lamprecht Transport seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, attorney fees, pre-and post-judgment interest, costs of court and all other relief to which it is entitled. It is represented by attorneys Dana K. Martin and Daniela Oliveira of Hill Rivkins LLP in Houston.
