GALVESTON — Friendswood property owners are suing an insurance company and an adjuster, alleging they owe at least $100,000 for breach of insurance contract.

Dr. Thomas Wright III and Deborah Wright filed a lawsuit Dec. 12 in Galveston County District Court against ASI Lloyds Inc. and Pamela Boone, alleging violation of the prompt payment of claims provisions of the Texas Insurance Code.

According to the complaint, during the policy period between Jan. 8-April 11, 2016, storms caused damage to the plaintiffs' property at 3102 Bay Ridge Court, Friendswood. The suit says the Wrights submitted a claim to ASI for all damages the property sustained.

To date, the lawsuit states, the Wrights have yet to receive full payment for the damages. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to thoroughly investigate the plaintiffs' claim and misrepresented that the Wright home had sustained minimal damage.

The Wrights seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and all other just relief. They are represented by attorneys Jonathan C. Kieschnick of The Crim Law Firm PC in Houston and by Brendan M. Daly of The Daly Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
