BEAUMONT – Attorney Paul ‘Chip’ Ferguson has been named “Lawyer of the Year” in Plaintiffs’ Product Liability Law by Best Lawyers.

The award is one of the many bestowed Ferguson, managing partner at Beaumont’s The Ferguson Law Firm, over his career.

Ferguson has been recognized as “Lawyer of the Year” in multiple practice areas, including: Plaintiffs’ Product Liability Litigation; Plaintiffs’ Personal Injury Litigation; and Commercial Litigation.

“It is a true honor to be recognized as the ‘Lawyer of the Year’. I hope it shows our continued dedication to provide high quality representation to those individuals who are injured as a result of corporate malfeasance and dangerous, defective products,” said Ferguson.

“The fact such awards have been given on multiple occasions only further demonstrates our consistent results for our clients over the years.”

The results include recognition for recovering the largest annual verdicts for the State of Texas as well as setting the national record for the largest verdict in an 18-wheeler/side underride case.

The award is bestowed to an individual attorney with the highest performance in a specific practice area and region. Only one lawyer is recognized and the recognition is based entirely on peer review and captures the consensus opinion of leading lawyers about the professional abilities of their colleagues.

Ferguson’s career has also been highlighted by having two separate dangerous products recalled due to his efforts.

“Having had dangerous products recalled, and removed from the market, exemplifies what The Ferguson Law Firm does – we try to make our community safer and more productive for everyone,” Ferguson said.

“It has been, and remains our mission.”

Ferguson’s representation also includes the West Brook High School girls’ soccer team bus accident, which claimed two lives and injured more than twenty other team members.

That case helped convince the Texas Legislature to pass a law requiring seat belts in all Texas school busses.
