MARSHALL — A Longview store manager is suing Dillard's, alleging unlawful discriminatory employment practices.

William Devaux filed a complaint March 22 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Dillard's Inc., alleging violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, as a result of Dillard's discriminatory practices, Devaux has suffered lost wages and benefits and lost employment opportunities. He was terminated June 16, 2016, the suit says.

The plaintiff alleges Dillard's failed to equalize conditions of employment by firing him at the age of 59 and replacing him with a significantly younger employee.

Devaux seeks trial by jury, back pay, liquidated damages, attorney fees, litigation expenses and court cost and all other proper relief. He is represented by attorney William S. Hommel, Jr. of Hommel Law Firm in Tyler.
