Mark Freeman and David James both join the firm as partners. The two attorneys’ primary practice areas include admiralty and maritime law.
Freeman and James have represented a range of clients, including vessel owners, underwriters and shipping related entities, as well as brown water vessel operators, drilling contractors, and other oil and gas related entities, according to a press release.
“We are thrilled to expand into a new region and add such experienced attorneys to the firm,” said Dan Butcher, managing partner, Strasburger. “They bring an extensive amount of experience in their practice areas, further promoting our ability to provide exceptional service to clients with complex admiralty and maritime needs. Mark and David will be great assets to our clients and the Strasburger team.”
Freeman, licensed in Texas, has appeared in courts throughout the state and brings a wealth of trial experience to the firm.
He will add to Strasburger’s bench strength in the Gulf Coast area with his representation of clients in a broad range of maritime issues, including incident response, charter party disputes, cargo claims, various regulatory proceedings and toxic tort claims, according to the release.
Freeman graduated from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.
“Strasburger is known for their incredible depth of expertise within the legal marketplace, particularly in the transportation industry,” said Freeman. “I’m excited to be part of an elite team.”
James is licensed to practice in both Texas and Louisiana.
His extensive litigation and regulatory experience in both states, particularly in multi-defendant matters involving vessel owners, underwriters and shipping-related entities, will greatly enhance the firm’s capabilities in serving clients throughout Southeast Texas and Louisiana, according to the release.
James is a member of the Texas and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, the Maritime Law Association of the U.S. and The Association of Average Adjusters of the U.S. He graduated from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
“I look forward to working with such a strong, dedicated team of legal professionals. Strasburger represents a diverse range of companies, and I’m thrilled to be joining the ranks,” said James.
