Harris County man accuses Greyhound Lines Inc. of negligence

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing Greyhound Lines Inc. for allegedly failing to take measures to prevent injuries at one of its bus stations.

James Smith filed a complaint on April 24 in the Harris County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to inform bus passengers of the dangerous conditions of the floor at its bus station.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was walking through the defendant's bus station on March 8, 2017 when he slipped and fell due after an employee mopped the floor and failed to place warning signs. As a result, Smith claims he suffered a stroke and injuries to his head, neck and back.

The plaintiff holds Greyhound Lines Inc. responsible for allegedly failing to maintain the premies, including floors and walkways in a reasonably safe condition, failure to inspect the premises and failure to correct the condition by taking reasonable measure to safeguard persons who entered the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus costs, expenses, pre-judgement interest, attorney's fees and other relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. He is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Blake A. Watson of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
