Georgia-Pacific LLC named in suit after man's alleged asbestos-related death

Asbestos 01

HOUSTON – An estate representative alleges her decedent died because of injuries related to asbestos exposure.

Teri Hargrave, individually and as personal representative of the heirs and estate of Rodney L. Hargrave, deceased, filed a complaint on May 11 in the Harris County District Court against Georgia-Pacific LLC, formerly known as Georgia-Pacific Corp., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, as a result of plaintiff's decedent Rodney Hargrave's exposure to asbestos-containing products, Rodney Hargrave was diagnosed with asbestos-related mesothelioma and died on April 11, 2014.

The plaintiff holds Georgia-Pacific LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to adequately warn and inform decedent of the dangers of being exposed to asbestos-containing products.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks punitive and exemplary damages, plus interest, costs of the action and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by W. Mark Lanier and Benjamin S. Pyle of The Lanier Law Firm in Houston.
