GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing a San Leon mobile park owner and a dog owner, alleging their negligence caused the plaintiff to be attacked by a dog.

Tammy Lynne Jones filed a complaint May 19, in the Galveston County District Court against Seabreeze Mobile Home Park and Dawn Marie Guajardo, alleging Guajardo breached her duty to exercise reasonable care to prevent her dog from injuring others.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 24, Jones was injured when Guajardo’s dog struck her when she came to collect money for work she had performed on the defendant's trailer. Jones says she suffered injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges Guajardo failed to properly tether her dog to a post and to control the pet's ability to leave the trailer and attack an innocent passerby.

Jones seeks trial by jury, monetary relief up to $100,000, actual and exemplary damages, plus interest, court costs and all other proper relief. She is representing herself.
