Law money 01

HOUSTON – A Houston man alleges a landscape company he formerly worked for as a laborer failed to pay him overtime compensation.

Raul Ramos filed a complaint on Nov. 6 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Mogonye Land Tech LLC and Steven Mogonye alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he regularly worked for more than 40 hours per week for which he was not compensated at a rate of one-and-one-half times his regular rate of pay for the extra hours worked.

The plaintiff holds Mogonye Land Tech LLC and Mogonye responsible because the defendants allegedly recklessly carried out their illegal pattern or practice of not paying overtime compensation.

The plaintiff seeks all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other lawful relief. He is represented by Mark Siurek and Patricia Haylon of Warren & Siurek LLP in Houston.
