BEAUMONT – A Beaumont woman alleges a faulty chair at her workplace caused her to fall and sustain injuries.

Jennie B. Mitchell filed a complaint on Nov. 1 in the Jefferson County District Court against PM Management - Golden Triangle NC I LLC, doing business as Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Alma Cane alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was an employee of the defendants. On Dec. 20, 2016, the suit states she and Cane were going over patient charts and she was injured when the chair she was attempting to sit in slipped out from underneath her, causing her to fall. She alleges she sustained injuries and damages resulting in necessary medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds PM Management - Golden Triangle NC I LLC and Cane responsible because defendant Summer Place allegedly failed to repair or replace the defective chair.

The plaintiff seeks damages in such amounts as evidence may show at trial, costs of court and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Jon B. Burmeister and Tommy L. Yeates of Moore Landrey LLP in Beaumont.
