Slip01

BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur woman is seeking $1 million after slipping at a grocery store in the city.

Hang Nguyen filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the Jefferson County District Court against H.E.B. Food Store Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 28, 2015, she was shopping at H.E.B. Food Store at 3401 Gulfway Drive in Port Arthur when she slipped on an unknown residue on the floor. She alleges she sustained bodily injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, disability, loss of enjoyment of life and physical impairment.

The plaintiff holds H.E.B. Food Store Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed a slick thick residue to be present on the floor, failed to clean the unknown substance and failed to provide warnings signs around the area where she slipped.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of $1 million or less and all other relief, both general and special. She is represented by Sean L. Nguyen of Cedillo & Nguyen PLLC in Port Arthur.
