St. Joseph Medical Center, others named in suit by man who alleges stroke was not timely treated

HOUSTON – A Houston man claims that his stroke was not timely diagnosed or treated.

Larry Garza filed a complaint on Nov. 10 in the Harris County District Court against St. Joseph Medical Center, SJ Medical Center LLC, et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was transported to St. Joseph Hospital on Aug. 30, 2015, and was suffering from generalized weakness. He alleges that while he was in the hospital, he suffered a stroke that the defendants failed to diagnose and treat.

The plaintiff holds St. Joseph Medical Center, SJ Medical Center LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to timely and properly diagnosed and treat his medical condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other and further relief. He is represented by Charles R. Houssiere III and Randal A. Kauffman of Houssiere, Durant and Houssiere LLP in Houston.
