Man seeks more than $1 million from Coastal Cargo of Texas over fall injuries

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges a company's negligence caused his injuries in a fall from a forklift.

Ernest Robinson filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the Harris County District Court against Coastal Cargo of Texas Inc. alleging violation of Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 15, 2017, he was injured when he slipped and fell from the side of the forklift, breaking his arm and injuring his head. He alleges he has suffered loss wages, pain, mental anguish, impairment and emotional distress.

The plaintiff holds Coastal Cargo of Texas Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly violated its own safety practices, failed to properly inspect the forklift and failed to cure the forklift's defects.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief. He is represented by Jim Hart, Eloy Gaitan and Cesar Tavares of Williams, Kherkher, Hart, Boundas LLP in Houston.
