HOUSTON – A Harris County couple claim a Houston general contractor failed to complete work on a home.

Ronald H. Shoop III and Erin Taylor Shoop filed a complaint on Nov. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Thomas Trevino IV and Box Builders LLC alleging breach of contract, fraud and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in the spring of 2017, they contracted defendants for complete improvements to a home they purchased in Houston. They allege they were given a move-in date of July 27.

The plaintiff holds Trevino IV and Box Builders LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to perform the promised work in a timely manner and have misused and diverted plaintiffs' funds, supplies, materials and fixtures. They allege they have paid the defendants almost $100,000.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual, treble and exemplary damages; pre- and post-judgment interest; costs of court and such other just and proper relief. They are represented by Wesley Lotz and Nick Brown of Fulkerson Lotz LLP in Houston.
