HOUSTON – Harris County homeowners allege a general contractor failed to complete work on their property in a good and workmanlike manner.
Charles Rossman and Karen Rossman filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in the Harris County District Court against US Construction Services LLC and Whitney Jones alleging negligence, breach of contract and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 3, 2014, they contracted defendants to repair their fire-damaged residence in Katy. The plaintiffs allege that the defendants did not comply with codes or accepted building practices and defects were discovered. As a result of defendants' allegedly defective works, they were forced to hire new contractors to repair and complete their residence at a substantial additional cost.
The plaintiffs holds US Construction Services LLC and Jones responsible because the defendants allegedly falsely represented their expertise and failed to complete construction work in a good and workmanlike manner and within a reasonable amount of time.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. They are represented by Christopher A. Ruhman and Victoria A. Dessens of Hirsch & Westheimer PC in Houston.
