Dishwasher alleges Olympia at Pier 21 wrongfully terminated him

Wrongful term 07

GALVESTON – A man formerly employed as a dishwasher at a Galveston restaurant alleges he was terminated after he was injured on the job.

Ronald Jackson filed a complaint on Nov. 21 in the Galveston County District Court against Olympia at Pier 21 Inc. alleging negligence and wrongful termination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 24, he injured his right hand when a glass shattered while he was emptying a dishwasher during the scope of his employment with the defendant. He alleges the injury required surgery and that he was wrongfully terminated as a result of the injury.

The plaintiff holds Olympia at Pier 21 Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe workplace and failed to provide gloves for use as a preventive for accidents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and any further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Stephen P. Carrigan and David M. Anderson of Carrigan & Anderson PLLC in Corpus Christi.
