HOUSTON – A truck driver alleges he was injured while preparing a load because his employer failed to provide proper assistance and training.
Miguel Garcia filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the Harris County District Court against UV Logistics LLC, doing business as United Vision Logistics, and Leslie Keith alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on July 15, 2016, the plaintiff was employed as a truck driver for the defendants and was preparing a load for delivery. He alleges he fell from a trailer while tightening the straps on the flat bed with a winch and sustained injuries.
The plaintiff holds UV Logistics LLC and Keith responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate safety policies and practices, failed to provide proper assistance and training and failed to provide appropriate tools for the required job duties.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to as the court may deem just. He is represented by Loren G. Klitsas of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
