HOUSTON – A Delaware man is seeking a refund of money he paid to open a franchise after the agreement fell through.

Anthony Grandinetti filed a complaint on Nov. 28 in the Harris County District Court against Meineke Car Care Centers LLC alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 7, 2014, he entered into a franchise and trademark agreement with defendant to open a Meineke Center in greater Houston and paid the initial fee $10,000. The suit states the parties could not agree on a location and the plaintiff requested a refund of the $10,000, but the defendant has not refunded the money.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of less than $100,000 and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Leslie Wm. Adams and Lingling E. Dai of Leslie Wm. Adams & Associates in Houston.
