HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges that Houston Methodist Hospital fired her because she suffers from hypoglycemia.

Lucinda Jefferson filed a lawsuit against Houston Methodist on Nov. 30 in the Harris County 269th District Court.

Court papers state that the defendant employed Jefferson from October 2013 to August 2016.

After Jefferson learned her diagnosis, her physician imposed various restrictions to help her control her condition, to which the original petition asserts the defendant did not adhere.

The suit further claims the respondent established a “sham” job search to supposedly help the plaintiff find another position within the hospital.

“The real motivation was to eventually wrongfully terminate Jefferson,” it says.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by attorney Clayton D. Craighead of The Craighead Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
