GALVESTON – A patron at a Galveston resort alleges she was injured while using the water slide there and that the resort failed to warn of the dangerous condition.

Pamla Reyes filed a complaint on Dec. 7, 2017, in the Galveston County District Court against Fertitta Hospitality LLC, doing business as The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 16, 2017, she was riding a water slide in the pool area at the defendant’s resort when she hit her head on a boulder on her way down. She alleges she injured her head, left shoulder and cervical spine and was taken to the emergency room immediately after the incident.

The plaintiff holds Fertitta Hospitality LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly maintain and inspect the slide in question and failed to adequately warn patrons that a dangerous condition existed.

The plaintiff seeks damages in accordance with the evidence, costs of court, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Muhammad S. Aziz of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
