Fort Bend County woman seeks damages from physician over alleged injuries during surgery

Medical malpractice 02

HOUSTON – A Fort Bend County woman alleges she was injured during a surgery.

Candi Craig filed a complaint on Dec. 12, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Gene E. Hubner, MD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the defendant performed surgery on the plaintiff on Nov. 4, 2016, and because of complications from the surgery, needed medical care until Nov. 19, 2016.

She alleges that as a result of defendant's negligence, she suffered permanent injuries and disabilities resulting in physical pain, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Hubner responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to recognize the plaintiff's increased risk of ureteral injury, failed to maintain ureteral awareness during the procedure and failed to perform careful surgical dissection.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Steven R. Davis and John A. Davis Jr. of Davis & Davis Attorneys at Law in Houston.
