GALVESTON – A Galveston man is seeking damages from Galveston County after a collision with one of its employees.

Jimmie Manen filed a complaint on Dec. 15, 2017, in the Galveston County District Court against Galveston County alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 29, 2016, he suffered bodily injuries and property damage when defendant’s employee Jennifer F. Wycoff carelessly operated a motor vehicle and caused it to collide with his vehicle at the intersection of 18th and Market streets in Galveston.

The plaintiff holds Galveston County responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly failed to yield to the right of way at the stop sign and failed to maintain careful lookout.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other and further relief. He is represented by Robert J. Binstock, Charles Clinton Hunter and Melissa Binstock Ephron of Reich & Binstock LLP in Houston.
