HOUSTON – A Baytown nursing facility is alleged to have contributed to the death of a male resident.

James L. Threadgill, Jr.’s lawsuit claims St. James House of Baytown, doing business as Baytown Transitional Care Center, LLC, failed to monitor his late father, who was reportedly wheelchair-bound.

According to court documents filed on Jan. 24, an employee of the defendant dropped the elder Threadgill out of his wheelchair.

The worker did not have anyone assist them nor was properly trained to make transfers, the suit says.

The younger Threadgill asserts the subject incident fractured his father’s hip. The decedent succumbed to the injury shortly afterwards, per the original petition.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Jake Modesett, III and Walter V. Williams of the law firm Modesett Williams, PLLC in Austin.
