HOUSTON – A local woman claims she received an injury at a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo event two years ago and has filed a lawsuit, per recent Harris County District Court records.

In her complaint against HLSR, Mary Jane Naquin says she was walking between booths during the annual Bar-B-Que Cook-Off on Feb. 27, 2016 when she “immediately hit upon unmarked steel supporting braces” for said booths.

Naquin adds the braces obstructed the walkway and were unmarked, asserting the incident was exacerbated by the surrounding darkness of the evening.

“The defendant caused the condition by placement of the protruding tent bracing jutting into the event walkways where the guests of the event were expected to walk,” the original petition says.

Per Naquin, she sustained injuries to her face, arm, and knees.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by Daniel Joseph Fay of Houston.
