Houston Northwest Operating Co. LLC, others named in wrongful death suit

Medical malpractice 02

HOUSTON – A San Jacinto County woman alleges her decedent's condition was not properly and timely monitored before his death.

Sherry Beyer, individually and as representative of the estate of Kevin Beyer and as next friend of an unnamed minor, filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the Harris County District Court against Houston Northwest Operating Co. LLC, Houston Northwest Urgent Care Center, Dr. Paul Tho Nguyen, et al. citing the Texas Wrongful Death Statute.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 23, 2016, Kevin Beyer submitted himself to the care and treatment of defendants. As result of their alleged negligence, his condition deteriorated further and he died the next day.

The plaintiff holds Houston Northwest Operating Co. LLC, Houston Northwest Urgent Care Center, Nguyen, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to review decedent's past medical history, failed to perform appropriate medical screening and failed to determine that he had tachycardia and tachypnea.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other general and special relief. She is represented by Richard Warren Mithoff of Mithoff Law in Houston.
