HOUSTON – A Harris County man is suing his defunct employer in an effort to recover back pay.

Paul E. Licata brought a breach of contract lawsuit against Ciera Network Systems, Inc. on Mar. 1, asserting the company failed to compensate him for assisting with its shutdown.

The suit explains that the defendant employed Licata for four years. He reportedly stayed on another year to assist with winding down operations, settling with creditors, and employing attorneys to settle claims.

“(Licata) was not paid a salary even though he was promised one,” the original petition says.

Court papers claim the plaintiff is owed $120,000 for the additional year.

He is representing himself.
