Order of non-suit entered in suit alleging tortious interference with a contract

Contract 08

HOUSTON — An order of non-suit has been entered in litigation brought by an electric service provider who sued a competitor and former employees for tortious interference with a contract.

Champion Energy Services LLC filed their lawsuit Oct. 19, 2016, in Harris County District Court against Eric Flores, Tristan Jones and New Era Power LLC.

The plaintiff alleged the defendants took possession of Champion Energy's proprietary and confidential information for their own gain and encouraged the plaintiff's customers to breach their contractual duties with Champion and enter into an agreement with another retail electric provider.

Court records show an order of non-suit in the case was filed Feb. 27, dismissing the case without prejudice.

Court records further show Flores denied the case allegations and stated that he did not establish a company to scheme at Champion Energy’s expense.

Attorney Andrew Edison of Edison McDowell & Hetherington LLP in Houston represented Champion Energy Services.
