Worker blames skull fracture on alleged negligence of Republic Industrial and Energy Solutions

Oildrill 05

HOUSTON – A man alleges his skull was fractured while working at a well in Nolan County.

Fernando Lawhon filed a complaint on April 19 in the Harris County District Court against Republic Industrial and Energy Solutions LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 22, 2017, he was injured while working as an employee for Basic Energy at the OXO IWD well, which was controlled by the defendant, when a heavy piece of metal fell onto his head, severely fracturing his skull.

The plaintiff holds Republic Industrial and Energy Solutions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to ensure equipment and/or fixtures were properly affixed, failed to address safety issues and failed to ensure work was properly supervised.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $1 million and any other relief that are just and reasonable. He is represented by John D. Sheppard and Nicholas Morrow of Morrow & Sheppard LLP in Houston and Janson E. Bailey of Law Offices of Janson E. Bailey in Beaumont.
