JC trial slated in breach of contract case between Petrochem Field Services, J.Z. Russell

Contract 09

BEAUMONT – A breach of contract lawsuit between Petrochem Field Services and J.Z. Russell Industries has been called up for trial.

Russell filed suit against Petrochem on Nov. 12, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the company’s amended petition, Petrochem entered into a contract with Russell for equipment and services. Petrochem has allegedly not paid for the services rendered.

Court records show Petrochem has filed a counterclaim against Russell, asserting he neglected to bring all his equipment when he arrived in Venezuela to perform the job.

As a result, Petrochem made an unplanned round trip to Houston to retrieve Russell’s equipment, incurring significant expenses.

After the job completion, the parties began disputing Russell’s invoices.

Russell is represented by Chris Portner of the Beaumont law firm Portner Bond.

Petrochem is represented by Allen Rustay of the Houston law firm Hicks Thomas.

Judge Justin Sanderson, 60th District Court, is presiding over the case.
