HOUSTON – The parties in a 2016 legal malpractice lawsuit have reportedly the disposal of the case.

Recent Harris County District Court records show that K&L Gates LLP and Tony D. McClinton filed a joint motion to dismiss with prejudice into McClinton’s suit on Apr. 19.

McClinton, the proprietor of an oil and gas equipment company, sued the Houston-based law firm on Feb. 24, 2016 in the Harris County 11th District Court on allegations attorney Anthony F. Newton, an ex-partner with the practice, intentionally misrepresented him. Newton was a co-defendant in the litigation.

The three-page motion dismisses “all claims and counter-claims” associated with the case.

An agreed order of dismissal with prejudice is currently pending.
