Asbestos suit filed against Texaco in JC, firm of district judge candidate handling case

BEAUMONT – Texaco and several other companies have been named in an asbestos lawsuit alleging wrongful death.

Representing the estate of Joseph Kennedy Sr., Mary Ann Kennedy filed the suit April 26 in Jefferson County District Court.

The suit was filed through Hobson & Bradley – the law firm of 172nd District Court judicial candidate Tina Bradley.

Aside from Texaco, the other defendants named in the suit include 3M Company, Able Supply, Guard-Line and TMR Company.

According to the lawsuit, Joseph Kennedy was exposed to asbestos while in the employment of the defendants, primarily at the Texaco facility in Port Arthur.

The plaintiffs are accusing the defendants of gross negligence and fraud.

Herschel Hobson represents them.

Judge Kent Walston, 58th District Court, is assigned to the case.
