SHERMAN – A medical facility at a university in Dallas is accused of terminating a female employee who complained about sexual harassment.

Rachelle Blankenship initiated legal action against The University of Texas Southwest Medical Center on May 1 in Sherman federal court.

Blankenship claims her supervisor at the defendant’s Frisco Clinic, Dr. Georges Tabbal, sexually harassed her. The plaintiff routinely told Tabbal to stop to no avail as his behavior “turned more malicious,” the lawsuit says.

Court papers state that Blankenship’s requests for help fell on deaf ears, adding UTSW later fired her for supposedly committing HIPAA violations.

According to the original petition, the defendant fired Blankenship to get back at her for her complaints against Tabbal.

Consequently, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Stafford G. H. Davis and Catherine Bartles of The Stafford Davis Form, P.C. in Tyler are representing the complainant.
