Former Statoil Gulf Services VP seeks more than $1 million in age discrimination complaint

Wrongful term 04

HOUSTON – The former vice president of Statoil Gulf Services alleges he was terminated from his position because of his age.

James Meek filed a complaint on May 25 in the Harris County District Court against Statoil Gulf Services LLC alleging that the oil and gas company violated the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 2, 2017, he was terminated from his employment with the defendants at the age of 59 after 15 years of service.

The plaintiff holds Statoil Gulf Services LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to adverse employment actions regarding the terms, conditions, compensation and privileges of employment and terminated his employment because of his age.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other legal and equitable relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Joseph Y. Ahmad and Neal A. Sarkar of Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing PC in Houston.
