McDonald's customer claims wet tile caused fall

Slip01

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges that his back was injured after a fall at a fast food restaurant.

Dexter Basile filed a complaint on May 25 in the Harris County District Court against McDonald's Corp., et al. alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 20, 2016, he was a customer at defendants' McDonalds restaurant at 5505 Lockwood Drive in Houston when he slipped and fell on wet and slippery tile, causing injuries to his back.

The plaintiff holds McDonald's Corp., et al. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a safe environment and failed to properly supervise their employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by H. Ronald Welsh and Daphne M. Cherry of The Welsh Law Firm PLLC in Houston, John E. Kiker in Kingwood and Ali Mokaram of Mokaram Law Firm in Houston.
