BEAUMONT – A Hidalgo County resident alleges a Fort Bend County woman failed to control her speed and caused a collision on a highway in Jefferson County.
Fernando Ochoa filed a complaint on May 23 in the Jefferson County District Court against Shari Duke-Tomlin alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, he sustained serious injuries when the defendant lost control of her vehicle and collided with his vehicle on Interstate 10 in Jefferson County. He alleges he suffered pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement, lost wages and incurred medical expenses as a result of the collision.
The plaintiff holds Duke-Tomlin responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to control her speed, failed to maintain proper control of her vehicle, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed take proper evasive actions.
The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Mariah Bhatti and John A. Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
