Security Service Federal Credit Union alleged to have harassed woman with collection calls

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio consumer alleges she has been harassed by calls from a debt collector.

Berniece Bursch filed a complaint on June 19 in the San Antonio Division of the Western District of Texas against Security Service Federal Credit Union alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Texas Debt Collection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in March 2018, she began receiving calls to her cellular phone from the defendant attempting to collect upon an alleged debt. She alleges she demanded the defendant stop calling her, but the calls have continued. 

The plaintiffs holds Security Service Federal Credit Union responsible because the defendant allegedly contacted her using an automatic telephone dialing system without her consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and punitive damages, costs, attorney fees and such other and further relief that the court deems just and appropriate. She is represented by Nathan C. Volheim and Taxiarchis Hatzidimitriadis of Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
