HOUSTON – A round of golf at a local country club ended in a slip and fall for a Harris County man, according to a local state district lawsuit.

David Knowles is suing Hearthstone Country Club, Inc. and Apollo Global Management, LLC, formerly known as ClubCorp., Inc. and ClubCorp Realty Holdings, Inc., after he reportedly “slipped and fell on green and black mold located on a foot bridge” while playing golf on Oct. 1, 2016.

“The foot bridge used by the plaintiff contained mold which posed an unreasonable risk of harm and caused the plaintiff to slip and suffer severe injuries,” court papers filed on June 28 in the Harris County 133rd District Court say.

The original petition insinuates that the defendants were aware of the condition in question.

Consequently, Knowles seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Russell S. Briggs of the law firm Fibich, Leebron, Copeland & Briggs in Houston.
