HOUSTON – A Port of Houston dock worker alleges an unsecured load of rebar caused him injury.

Jason Solis filed a complaint on July 2 in the Harris County District Court against John Doe and Paul Transportation Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 5, 2017, he was working on a dock at the Port of Houston and was injured when a rebar fell off the truck driven by defendant Doe and owned by defendant Paul, which landed on the plaintiff's foot. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to secure the load of rebar on the truck.

The plaintiff holds John Doe and Paul Transportation Inc. responsible because defendant Doe failed to properly secure the cargo, failed to keep proper lookout and failed to operate the vehicle in a non-negligent manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Muhammad Aziz of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto and Aziz in Houston.
