HOUSTON – A man alleges he was injured at a Houston apartment because a ceiling collapsed on him.

Juan Vasquez filed a complaint on July 3 in the Harris County District Court against Texas SFI Partnership 42 LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 31, he was at defendant's Plantation Apartments when a large portion of the ceiling collapsed onto him. He alleges he suffered serious bodily injuries, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and medical and pharmaceutical expenses as a result of the incident.

The plaintiff holds Texas SFI Partnership 42 LTD responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect the premises where the dangerous condition existed and failed to take reasonable measures to make it safe and to safeguard persons in the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief as the court may find appropriate. He is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Stephen Mall of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
