Element Fleet driver alleged to have drove through stop sign in Montgomery County crash

Lawsuits
Car accident 12

HOUSTON – A motorist alleges an employee of a Minnesota-based company drove through a stop sign in Montgomery County and caused her injury.

Cathy Jean Lane filed a complaint on July 5 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Vicente A. Ramirez and Element Fleet Corp., formerly doing business as Gelco Corp., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 19, 2017, she was involved in an auto accident when Ramirez caused the vehicle owned by Element to collide with a GMC Yukon, which in turn collided with her vehicle at the intersection of Valley Ranch Boulevard and SH-99 service road. She alleges she suffered injuries and damages resulting in medical expenses, pain and mental anguish, loss of earnings and disfigurement as a result of the collision.

The plaintiff holds Ramirez and Element Fleet Corp. responsible because defendant Ramirez failed to yield the right of way, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to timely apply brakes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and any other relief she is justly entitled. She is represented by Natalie M. Arledge of Cowen Rodriguez Peacock in San Antonio.
