GALVESTON – A woman alleges she was terminated from her job at a distribution company because of her age.
Betty Flisowski filed a complaint July 9 in Galveston County District Court against Faust Distributing Co. Inc. citing Texas Labor Code.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant's predecessor in 1999 before it was acquired by the defendant in 2015. She alleges that despite having no write-ups or verbal warnings, the defendant posted her job on its website in April or May 2017. Eventually, she was terminated on Aug. 17, 2017, and replaced by a younger employee. The suit states the plaintiff was 47 at the time of her termination.
The plaintiff holds Faust Distributing Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her and terminated her employment because of her age.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Julie L. St. John and Robert J. Wiley of Rob Wiley PC in Houston.
