Parents allege minor was injured on slide at San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center

Lawsuits

GALVESTON – Harris County parents allege their minor daughter was injured at a Galveston resort while using a water slide.

Carlos and June Cordeiro, individually and as next friend of a minor child, filed a complaint on July 13 in the Galveston County District Court against Fertitta Hospitality LLC, doing business as The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center, et al. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on July 31, 2016, plaintiffs' minor child was a guest at defendants' The San Luis Resort and was using the water slide when she was injured and knocked unconscious. The suit states she sustained a closed-head injury and injury to her body in general and has not recovered to the health condition she was in before that incident.

The plaintiffs hold Fertitta Hospitality LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly to inspect the condition on the premises, failed to remove hazardous items and failed to adequately warn invitees of the unsafe condition.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, for actual and exemplary damages, and all other relief to which they are entitled at law and in equity. They are represented by Mark T. Murray of Stevenson & Murray in Houston.
